The time machine that is the topic of this workshop precedes the more familiar science-fiction device that takes people into the past or future. This is the ultimate “machine” in that it produces time itself. In the form of the story of a king, the inhabitants of his kingdom, an evil genius, and with allusions to Wagner’s Parsifal, the workshop presents A Course in Miracles‘ view of Heavens’ Oneness and the seeming shattering of this eternal, pristine state into a finite kingdom of time and space, in which the inhabitants keep hidden from themselves their true origin and identity. Also hidden within, awaiting but their choice, is the Holy Spirit’s plan that would redirect their journey back toward the Kingdom that they would come to realize they never truly left.
Through discussion and various readings, this “journey without a distance” is examined in depth, with particular emphasis on the ego’s and the Holy Spirit’s purposes of time. Our choosing the Holy Spirit’s purpose of forgiveness is the means of joining Jesus outside time and then remembering our true Identity in God.
