The theme of self-worth was addressed previously and in this class goes further and deeper into the exploration of self-worth, contrasting the ego’s perspective on what gives us value with the Holy Spirit’s. Last year the sub-themes of humility and arrogance were explored in relationship to self-worth. In this program, the focus is on the sub-themes of limitation and inadequacy as they bear upon our experience of self-worth. Lack of self-worth must be closely related to and seem to follow from feelings of inadequacy. What do we believe our self-worth is based on? How do we measure our self-worth? Why do we sometimes feel worthless? How do we integrate the Course teaching that “your worth is established by God. . . . [and that] nothing you do or think or make is necessary to establish your worth” (T-4.I.7:2,6).
