Students of A Course in Miracles often fall into the ego trap of believing they are deficient as long as they falter in their acceptance and application of the Course’s teachings. Working toward readiness seems insufficient; mastery must be quickly attained, but that seems an impossibility, at least for a painfully long time. And so Jesus reassures us that this dilemma is no cause for discouragement as “time and space are under my control” (T-2.VII.7:9). Our focus, thus, needs to be on the steps we are asked to take in the process of achieving the goal of peace. We are asked, for example, to look at the misery we have so deftly denied so that we can consciously choose against the thought system that led to it and supports it. Its correction is already in our right minds as a reflection of the eternal Truth of our Identity. We need only trust the process as we concentrate on our forgiveness lessons. The discussion in this class explores the meaning of readiness in the gentle process presented in the three books of the Course.
