Dr. Jeffrey Seibert
Please Note: This podcast includes additional material on the seminar’s theme, recorded after the program’s completion.
Kenneth liked to remind us that our only problem is not the “tiny, mad idea” of separation, but that we have chosen to take it seriously–we “remembered not to laugh” (T-27.VIII.6:2). Forgiveness is the process by which we learn to smile at the ego and all its effects, so that our tears can be replaced with laughter (W-54.5:4). To experience that shift, we must be willing to look honestly at what we have chosen to believe is real and serious, bringing it for healing to the kind and gentle smile of the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, our own smile or laughter will simply be another form of denial that buries the guilt we believe is serious even more deeply in our unconscious mind. Through the practice of forgiveness, we learn to release from judgment all the things we take seriously–our bodies, our relationships, our lives, our selves! This program will include readings and discussion to help the student “smile more frequently” (W-155.1:2).
